Project Discontinued:
January 2011
The Soul
Food Cafe was a project sponsored by the LLIFE, Inc. organization as an
example of Cooperative Economics.
LLIFE's guiding principle is that 1)
participants who have a leadership role in cooperative economic projects
must exhibit specific skill sets necessary to manage the project, and 2)
participants must experience specific training in business processes and
leadership skills in order to create and manage a successful enterprise.
This experiential project validated
LLIFE's premises. Although participants were eager, committed, and put
forth 100% plus in effort, the foundation was inadequate to overcome
obstacles in the environment. The 2010-2011 economic downturn made
the environment more difficult that it would have been in a more
favorable environment.
LLIFE's takeaway from this project is
that enthusiasm and the greatest intentions do not negate the need for
adequate preparation.
LLIFE is most appreciative for the
efforts of all those who made this experiment a valuable learning
experience.

Dr. Gerald Higginbotham's Life
More Abundant Movement has long taught about the need to control
the economic, political, and social process within our
community. Then and only then can we begin to see a
significant re-building of our communities. His book, Teamwork,
Collaboration, and Networking, lays out the process for
making this vision a reality.
This process is being taught at
LLIFE's Smart Center in East St. Louis.
